About this Houndoom V
The card
Houndoom V 021/189 is the regular print of the Houndoom V in Darkness Ablaze, released on 14 August 2020. The art is by Ayaka Yoshida. The set has a Full Art of the same Houndoom V as well, numbered 178/189.
It is a 210 HP Fire Pokémon V with two attacks. Searing Flame does 20 and leaves the opponent's Active Pokémon Burned. Vengeful Flame hits for 100, and 100 more when any of its owner's Benched Fire Pokémon have damage counters on them. Like every Pokémon V, it gives up two Prize cards when it is Knocked Out.
Darkness Ablaze
Darkness Ablaze is the third main Sword & Shield expansion, with 201 cards: 189, and 12 secret rares numbered above them. It brought the first English Charizard VMAX, 020/189, the card just before this one. Much of the set comes from the Japanese Infinity Zone, released on 5 June 2020, where this Houndoom V is number 009.
The grade
PSA graded this copy Gem Mint 10, the top of its scale: a virtually perfect card, with sharp corners, sharp focus and its full original gloss. Look up cert 56085076 on PSA's website.
